Group Stage
Time commitment: 3 hours of gameplay (1 hour per match)

Each player plays a 2-game match vs each other players in their group
Tiebreak: 3+5 sudden death, with higher accuracy (CAPS) score starting with white. If game is drawn, players swap colors and play again until there’s a winner
Players earn 3 points for win in the regulation match, 2 points for a TB win, 1 point for a TB loss, and 0 points for a regulation loss
Top-2 from each group advance to Championship Bracket. 3rd and 4th from each group advance to Consolation Bracket

Match format: 2 games of 10+5

Tiebreaks
If there’s a tie in any stage of the tournament, the following tiebreaks, in order, decide the winner:
1. Match points earned in matches between tied players.
2. Game points earned in games between tied players (regulation only).
3. Average CAPS score across all 3 group play matches (regulation only).
- The player with the lowest average CAPS score among those who are tied will be awarded the lowest rank of the tied players. This entire process is repeated until all ties have been resolved.
